September Championships

Our September 30 Championships were a great day, all of which was made possible by our wonderful sponsors, volunteers, judges and of course our riders and their support crew. The BDC committee would like to thank all of you who contributed to a fantastic day of dressage. The sun was even shining!! A special thank you to our major sponsor Saddleworld Nowra who provided us with some beautiful prizes on the day including rugs for every class. Jennifer Ahling was also on site to share her knowledge on the latest PDS Carl Hester saddles.

Dressage NSW State Championships 2018

Congratulations to all our Southern HIghlands riders who have seen some great results at the NSW State Championships. There was a Highlands rider placing in almost every category. Danni Walliss took out Preliminary Pony Champion, Michelle Baker and Lisa Spackman winning Champion and Reserve in the Novice Pony, Angela Delamont winning Champion Novice. Robbie Mckinnon was Reserve Champion Elementary Rodney Martin had a cracker of a comp with a Champion in the Prix St Georges, Inter I and Inter I Freestyle being named Small Tour Champion on the magnificent PR Firenz. Matthew Dowsley took out Champion in the Advanced with David McKinnon as Reserve Champion. Michelle Baker placed 3rd in the Inter I Freestyle on Bradgate Park Puccini and Matthew Dowsley broke all records with a score of 75.795% riding AEA Prestige in their first Grand Prix Freestyle start. Bowral Dressage Club is pleased to offer its members an exciting opportunity not to be missed. Dressage Masterclass brings to Australia Spencer Wilton, the British champion and Olympic silver medallist, along with the 2018 New Zealand WEG representatives John Thompson and Australia's own Brett Parbery. The dressage masterclass includes sessions with some of our rising dressage stars including Riley Alexander, Michelle Baker, David McKinnon, Simone Pearce and David Shoobridge. We can offer our members a discounted ticket price of $134.50 and are looking to hire a mini bus (for an additional cost) if there is enough interest. The event is Saturday, December 1st at SIEC commencing at 12 noon concluding at 10pm. Tickets must be booked by September 17. Please email bowraldressage@gmail.com to register your interest.
